String block quilts are always a fun way to use up some of those extra stash piles sitting around! Marguerite will teach you a different method of making string blocks. Think about how you want your block to finish. Do you want a main color in the center such as black/white/blue? Do you want the finished quilt to have the same color theme? Do you want to have a star finish with the blocks? Do you want all dark colors? Or all light colors? Do you want all solids or a mixture of prints and solids or no solids at all? We will work several blocks at a time to reduce the number of times you have to get up to iron and/or cut your blocks apart.

This quilt uses the accordion method to make the half square triangles. Using this method gives you unique blocks. No two half square triangles will be alike unless you want them to be alike. This quilts is made with 5 inch squares. So go through your stash and get out all of the extra 5" squares so you can make a beautiful scrappy quilt! This quilt is the 50th project in the Stash Buster series of classes. So we are going to celebrate with cake. If you have been to some of the classes, bring your favorite class quilt for our show and tell time. Remember if you bring the pieced top to the September, Every Witch Way wall hanging class, there will be a gift waiting for you.
