Welcome to Tucker University at Acme Fabric and Quilt Co.! Tucker University is a series of technique classes for the Studio 180 Design Tools and Techniques. Each class will cover a different Studio 180 Design tool to help quilters build their skills and accuracy as well as ways to expand the use of the tool. These technique classes will teach you how the slightly oversized construction to ensure precision trimming for precise unit sizes when finished. Regardless of where you are in your quilting journey, this series of classes are intended to offer you an exciting opportunity to build your skills and accuracy! These classes are taught by Carol Coniglio, Studio 180 Design Certified Instructor.

Diamond In The Rough Quilt

Don’t be deceived by the intricate look of this throw sized quilt. Strip piecing makes it easier than it appears! Learn how to tame bias blocks by making this scrappy 52”x67” quilt. The model was made using Tim Holtz latest fabrics, but this would also be a great stash buster quilt. The scrappier, the better! This class is broken into two sessions- a full morning getting those bias blocks cut and a full day of getting those bias edges easily matched. There will be some homework during the intervening week. Thursday April 30th- 9:30-12:30 cutting class Thursday May 7th- 9:30-3:30

Beginning Piecing with Theresa

Now is the time....don't wait any longer. You have been interested in learning how to piece a quilt and need a little help. Join us in a perfect class for learning the basics of quilt piecing. Theresa will cover rotary cutting, pressing, sewing an accurate1/4 inch seam and matching intersections. Each month we will focus on one block in the quilt, learning different techniques to prefect the block. Later classes will cover assembling the quilt and putting on borders. Stripology - Ana and Elsa Companion Quilt Class

A confident beginner class where we will make 2 beautiful quilts with little waste. The triangles cut off the rectangles from the Ana block are used in the Elsa quilt and vice versa. You will learn how to cut yardage and fat quarters into strips, squares, rectangles, diagonal cutting and squaring up your blocks. Using your Stripology ruler will help you reduce your cutting time and improve your accuracy. Required: Stripology Squared or XL Ruler, Stripology Quickies pattern book, GEasy Ruler stickers. Please bring the following basic supplies to class: • Sewing machine in good working condition • ¼ “ foot • Basic sewing supplies – pins, small scissors, seam ripper, thread, stiletto • Small iron and ironing surface (ACME has some in the classroom, but it will be convenient to have one at your sewing space. • Rotary cutter and cutting mat large enough for your Stripology ruler. Again, there are some in the classroom, but it might be more convenient if you have one at your space. Fabric requirement from the book for the size of quilt you choose to make. Please do not cut your fabric before class.

Sewing Machine Cleaning

ACME is hosting a Sewing Machine Cleaning day. Bring your machine down to ACME and Keith Radford will work his magic. If it needs something more specific than what he can get done that day, Keith will take your machine home and then bring it back on a different day. We hope that you can take advantage of getting your most important tool of your sewing room back up to great working order!! Keith will price his service according to what is needing to be done with a $75 minimum cleaning/service fee. There will be a $25 deposit to have your name on the list. The deposit will be put toward you cleaning fee. Plan to Pay Keith directly the balance due. Keith will accept cash or check. When you pay your $25 deposit, please let ACME know the status of your machine (basically how dirty it might be).

Time to warm up your sewing machine before the ACME Retreat even starts. If you are not able to join us for the retreat, you can still sign up for these sewing days. You can come to just one of these days or all 4. Registration is required to reserve your table for the 4 days. The spot is yours alone for the 4 days whether you are here for 1, 2, 3 or 4 days. Please do not just show up as we usually have a waiting list. Thank you. Starting now, for the ACME Pre-Retreat Stitching Fun we will reserve your specific seat when you sign up if you want. The master chart is at ACME. If you sign up online, please call to select your seat. Sometimes our parking lot is chaotic. Feel free to drop your items at the back door and then find your parking spot. Reminder that there is community parking lot across the street out the front door and also side street parking. Come spend a few productive days together working on your favorite stitching or quilting projects. ACME is hosting Friday/Saturday DAYTIME retreats. Sewing times are 8:00 am to 9:00 pm (26 hours of dedicated fun sewing time). Maximize your sewing time by coming for our Pre-Retreat Stitching Fun Days that are Monday-Thursday prior to retreat. One price for all four days whether you come to one day or all four (normal business hours 9:00-4:00 apply for these Pre-Retreat days)! Space is limited...get signed up soon! Sew in Love - BOM Monthly session

Join LuAnn Franzluebbers once a month as she helps you with all of the components of this gorgeous quilt. LuAnn will show you how to create each of the blocks as you are learning lots of tips, tricks and techniques. The Sew in Love finished quilt is 60 inches square. Monthly class is instruction only. There will be 6 sessions. Registration $25, non-refundable. Class is free for those registered and having purchased the Sew in Love fabric kit.

Welcome to Tucker University at Acme Fabric and Quilt Co.! Tucker University is a series of technique classes for the Studio 180 Design Tools and Techniques. Each class will cover a different Studio 180 Design tool to help quilters build their skills and accuracy as well as ways to expand the use of the tool. These technique classes will teach you how the slightly oversized construction to ensure precision trimming for precise unit sizes when finished. Regardless of where you are in your quilting journey, this series of classes are intended to offer you an exciting opportunity to build your skills and accuracy! These classes are taught by Carol Coniglio, Studio 180 Design Certified Instructor.

Stash Blaster Garage Sale

STASH BLASTER COMING IN SEPTEMBER!! What is a Stash Blaster?? Well it is your opportunity to blast away some of that fabric, kits, thread, books, actually anything sewing related you do not want anymore. ACME is allowing us the opportunity to host a garage sale open to all, to thin out your stash. ByAnnie Basics

The ByAnnie Basics course is meant to help you learn the basic skills and techniques you need to make any ByAnnie pattern. If you're new to sewing ByAnnie patterns, this class will be a prerequisite for more advanced classes and Bag Sew Days with Theresa. This course will help you learn everything from reading ByAnnie patterns, cutting, quilting, and binding, to how to work with mesh, vinyl, and zippers. Theresa will share her best practices and techniques that will help you to create beautiful projects! You will go home with great samples of different processes that you will be able to refer back to as you make other projects. Please bring the following to class: 2 fat quarters of your choice and 1 - 40” ByAnnie zipper. These will be used to make your samples so they don’t need to be matching or fancy! At anytime, you can experience ACMEs one-stop shop for all of your ByAnnie.com supplies including ZIPPERS, PATTERNS, HARDWARE, MESH, VINYL, SOFT AND STABLE, FOLD-OVER ELASTIC, and WEBBING. Another great ByAnnie adventure will be the Pocket Packers Bag. This is a great, easy bag to make using all the new skills you learned in ByAnnie Basics class with Theresa. And it's great for gifts. This will be a 10:00am-2:00pm session. We will take a short lunch break so bring a sack lunch. Prerequisite - ByAnnie Basics Class or previous bag making experience. At anytime, you can experience ACMEs one-stop shop for all of your ByAnnie.com supplies including ZIPPERS, PATTERNS, HARDWARE, MESH, VINYL, SOFT AND STABLE, FOLD-OVER ELASTIC, and WEBBING. Come and sew with Theresa and she will help you get your bag finished. Bring your unfinished bag, pattern, sewing machine and supplies and we will work through it. Please let Theresa know which bag you will be working on so she can look over the pattern and be prepped to assist you. There are two subsequent days on the calendar.
