Stash Blaster Garage Sale

STASH BLASTER COMING IN SEPTEMBER!! What is a Stash Blaster?? Well it is your opportunity to blast away some of that fabric, kits, thread, books, actually anything sewing related you don?t want anymore. ACME is allowing us the opportunity to host a garage sale open to all, to thin out your stash. The following attachments contain all you need to know and if you still have questions please call Gay at 402-312-4110 or Jocelyn at 402-616-6620. Dates are: set up Monday September 23, sale will begin on Tuesday and end on Saturday Sept 28. Space is limited and your registration needs to be in by August 15.

Cabbage Rose Quilt

Join Nancy to learn how to make the Cabbage Rose Quilt. This beautiful quilt is super easy to make. The blocks are raw edge applique so there are no seams to match until you put the rows of blocks together. What makes this quilt unique is the fraying of the edges on the flowers. Just wash the quilt a couple of times and you will have a beautiful cabbage rose quilt. It takes 42 - 10" squares and some yardage for the background to make this quilt.

Barn Quilt Workshop - 2' Barn Quilt

Paint a barn quilt for the outdoors! You do not need to have a barn to put it on and you do not need to be an artist to paint a barn quilt - the tape does all the heavy lifting. Barn quilts beautify the area and cause a chain reaction of happiness! Rose from Artistic Innovations NE will teach you the tips and tricks to make it last and to help you have less touchup at the end. Many design options and colors are available the day of the class. Paint is included in the price. We ask that you bring a hair dryer and yellow Delicate Frogtape (1.41 inch is best and ACME is now carrying some). Rose will have extra barn quilt blanks available as well if you would like to purchase additional take home blanks or paint the day of the workshop for future barn quilts. We ask that you give us a heads up on how many of what size you would like to purchase in extras so we can prepare and bring plenty for everyone.

String Block Extravaganza

String block quilts are always a fun way to use up some of those extra stash piles sitting around! Marguerite will teach you a different method of making string blocks. Think about how you want your block to finish. Do you want a main color in the center such as black/white/blue? Do you want the finished quilt to have the same color theme? Do you want to have a star finish with the blocks? Do you want all dark colors? Or all light colors? Do you want all solids or a mixture of prints and solids or no solids at all? We will work several blocks at a time to reduce the number of times you have to get up to iron and/or cut your blocks apart.

Create the look of curves with straight line piecing and Studio 180 Design's Wedge Star tool. This quilt uses an assortment of medium value fabrics, a light background fabric, and a dark fabric. With careful placement of the different values in each block design you will see the illusion of interlocking rings and curves emerge in your quilt top.

Come spend a few productive days together working on your favorite stitching or quilting projects. ACME is hosting Friday/Saturday DAYTIME retreats. Sewing times are 8:00 am to 9:00 pm (26 hours of dedicated fun sewing time). Maximize your sewing time by coming for Open Sew Wednesday and Open Sew Thursday prior to retreat for only $5.00 a day (normal business hours 9:00-4:00 apply for Wed/Thur)! The ACME ByAnnie Sewing Adventure continues with the Hot and Heavy Purse or Iron Carrier. The Hot and Heavy is great to organize and carry all your ironing needs and it can be used as a purse. There are two sizes to choose from. The large bag is perfect for a full size iron and the small bag holds mini travel iron.This will be a 1 day class from 9am-4:00pm. We will take a short lunch break - please bring a sack lunch or plan on going out for a bite close by. ACME will be hosting several classes featuring a variety of ByAnnie patterns. Each class will have a supply list. You can print from your computer or stop by ACME for a paper copy. At anytime, you can experience ACMEs one-stop shop for all of your ByAnnie.com supplies including ZIPPERS, PATTERNS, HARDWARE, MESH, VINYL, SOFT AND STABLE, FOLD-OVER ELASTIC, and WEBBING. If we don't have it, we can order it in rather quickly.

Join Rhonda as she shows you how to make a beautiful broch/ornament. Class Description: We will be making brooch/pin or art piece using zippers, roving and embellishments. The zipper is hand sewn onto wool felt making an outline of a design. The inside is then filled in with wool roving using the technique of needle felting. Then buttons, beads, metal and other embellishments are added. Students will learn also how to prepare a zipper and apply a pattern. Instruction of needle felting will also be included in this class as well as embellishment tips and finishing options. Level: This class is open to all skill levels?if you can thread a needle, you can do this art form, however very sharp needles are used so it is preferable if students are at least 12 years of age. Needle felting experience is a plus but not a prerequisite for this class. Supplies: All materials for this class are provided by the instructor. Additional books, patterns, roving and embellishments will also be available for purchase.
